Hi! I’m Cherise McLendon, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Atlanta, GA, and founder of Unbound Counseling LLC. I love almost all genres of music, am a passionate dancer, and I’m an avid reader. I enjoy going on adventures with my husband and daughter, attending live concerts, and traveling near and far. You will often find me sipping on a cup of tea during sessions.

Though I was never one who knew exactly what I wanted to be when I grew up, I’ve always had a heart for serving others. This passion drew me to clinical social work and psychotherapy. As I began to “slay giants” in my own personal life, my passion grew towards helping my clients overcome the barriers and obstacles of the past. This is how I began my journey to study trans-generational trauma and start Unbound.

Unbound Counseling is a haven of hope for those who feel tethered to the past. Even when statistics say you won’t make it or you won’t be successful, your future can be bright.

My vision is for Unbound Counseling LLC to be a catalyst for change, supporting the healing process of trans-generational trauma or generational curses, so that more lives may be models of freedom, inspiring people to positively impact their family and community.

Reviews

There are really no words to describe Cherise. She is patient, understanding and wise. Truly an excellent counselor. I have grown tremendously as a result of our regular sessions and the resources that she has given.

Cherise is amazing! She truly cares about her clients. She is very responsive and knowledgeable! Cherise has a gift for articulating how you feel even when you are not able to fully express yourself. She is very personable and kind. Anyone would be blessed to have her as a counselor/therapist.

I love her personality, she's easy to talk to, and I love that she encourages me to try new ways of coping.

Cherise is friendly, empathetic, and understanding! I am very happy she is my therapist.
